Our application must be filled out in its entirety in order to be processed. Adoption applications are carefully screened to ensure healthy and happy environments for the rescued Boxers. Applicants must provide non-familial personal along with veterinary references and must answer numerous questions about their family and home environment.
Volunteers conduct reference checks and complete home study evaluations prior to final approval. After the application is approved, careful consideration is taken to successfully match Boxers with the family or individual that best suits their needs.The current adoption donation is $275.00 which aids in the cost of a routine veterinary examination, heartworm testing and preventative, vaccinations and altering.
Further treatment is given as deemed necessary by a licensed veterinarian.
Please consider Sponsoring Us! -- GOBR is run and staffed by a group of dedicated volunteers that use their own funds to rescue and care for our adoptable Boxers. You can donate to GOBR's general fund using PayPal. Just a $10 donation would pay for a rabies shot or a bag of food. If you'd like to donate to GOBR in the name of a Boxer lover in your life we will send that person a card with your name, donation amount and GOBR information. Contact us for donation information.
Foster Families are needed all over the state of Ohio . GOBR foster families care for Boxers before placing
them in forever homes. Responsibilities include: feeding, grooming, assessment and training. If you're interested in
becoming a foster home for one or more of our rescued Boxers and would like more information, please contact us!
Animals Are Not Gifts -- We at GOBR do not believe in giving animals as gifts. As the holidays approach you may want to give that special someone a new companion but we ask that you reconsider. Shelters and rescues are often overrun at the beginning of the new year with dogs and cats that were given to people by well meaning loved ones. If you feel certain that the recipient of your gift would love a new pet, we suggest purchasing a "New Pet Pack": dog bowls, collar, leash, shampoo, nail clippers, a brush, pet magazines and books and a gift card to your local pet supply store. Once the excitement of the holidays is over, take your loved one to the local shelter or cruise the internet together and find the perfect new companion! After all, this is their new pet and they may have strong feelings about certain breeds. While we will not adopt a Boxer to a family as a gift, we will be more than happy in assisting you in designing your Boxer Pet Pack!
